April recently won 1st place and a $150 cash prize for her presentation Inactivation of FGFR1 and FGFR2 in Cerebellar Glia at the RAMP (Research Association of Minority Professors) Conference held February 7-9, 2019 in New Orleans, LA.
RAMP is an educational and scientific research organization, founded in 1975 by Dr. Frank T. Hawkins, with the goals of providing minority professors the opportunity to engage in culturally relevant research projects, and providing minority scholars with the opportunity to present research that relates to the Black experience. April’s presented study hypothesized inactivating FGFR1 and FGFR2 may lead to postnatal cerebellar defects and abnormal motor behavior.
Well done, April!
