Ruben D. Henderson, III

Mr. Henderson is an Assistant Director of Student Activities and advisor for the University Program Council (UPC), Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. He received his undergraduate degree in Marketing and Legal Studies from the B.I. Moody III College of Business at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at UL Lafayette. Ruben is the advisor of the Black Male Leadership Association (BMLA), and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Ruben also serves on the Board of Directors for Miles Perret Cancer Services and The705 young professionals organization. He is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette Class XXIX (29). Ruben has a passion for working with students; his professional experience includes serving as an Enrollment Counselor/High School recruiter for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment, Greater New Orleans area, for UL. Ruben has a strong ardor for diversity and inclusion.

Karli Sherman

Assistant Director, Student Activities

Ms. Sherman is an Assistant Director of Student Activities and advisor for the University Program Council (UPC). Karli is an alumna of Florida State University (Master's in Higher Education & Student Affairs), the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Bachelors of General Studies in Arts and Humanities), and Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Her areas of interest include event management, college student development, musical theatre, leadership development, and glitter. Karli is highly enthusiastic about the university experience. When she is not engaged with UL Lafayette activities, she can be found volunteering with the Junior League of Lafayette, ballroom dancing, at one of Acadiana’s many festivals, singing, and being a terrific pet parent.

Thomas E. Tolley

Administrative Assistant III

Mr. Tolley completed his Bachelor of Arts degree (Classical Archaeology) at the University of Arizona, and received his Master of Arts degree (with honors) in Anthropology from Syracuse University. He is also currently a Doctoral Candidate (ABD) at Syracuse. Tom has extensive experience working in undergraduate and graduate education, and works with several student groups, including the Anthropology Society and Students for the Advancement of Women. Tom is also a member of several University committees.
