Welcome Week

Welcome Week for the fall 2017 semester is Monday, Aug. 21 through Friday, Aug. 25. These first five days of the semester consist of activities designed for you to reconnect with your friends, and make new ones, as you come back to campus or arrive for the first time.

Events for Welcome Week 2017:

  • Fruit and Donut Give-away - Located on the corner of Rex St. and St. Mary Blvd. University administrators, coaches, and student leaders hand out the treats. Join us from 7:30 am to 9:30 am on Monday, Aug. 21.
  • Get On Board Day - Student organizations across campus set up tables to promote their organizations. You can walk from table to table and find the organization(s) that would be best for you to join. Discover ways to get involved and make new connections. There is an organization for everyone, and you can learn more about them from your fellow students from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
  • Rec Fest - Sponsored by Rec Sports: Come see what Rec Sports has to offer at Bourgeois Hall and get information on intramural sports, Group X fitness classes, our fitness center, club sports, and the aquatic center. Join Rec Sports for a night of free food and activities, all culminating in the Cajun Color Run at Bourgeois Park. Get there early, because only the first 300 students will get to RUN! Rec Fest is at Bourgeois Hall, located at 225 Cajundome Boulevard, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, Aug. 24. You can take the night shuttle from the main campus to Bourgeois Hall for safe and easy transportation.
  • Block Party - Held on St. Mary Blvd. between Rex St. and Girard Park Circle. Join us, along with over 25 businesses and organizations, for free shirts, drinks, bags, games, and novelties from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, Aug. 25.
