Ragin' Cajun Karaoke Rules

  • Monday, October 26, 2015; Blackham Coliseum ; 6:00 p.m.
  • Join us for a night of fun, music and entertainment! Everyone is invited to attend this lively event that kicks off homecoming week
  • Although organizations competing in sweepstakes are REQUIRED to enter the competition, any individual, greek or student organizations are welcome to participate in this event
  • A grand prize will be given to the 1st place winner
  • Each performance will be allowed only one singer.  Each participant may have up to 5 (non-singing) extras on stage for their performance
  • Judges will pick the top 3 performers and each of these contestants will be required to sing a song selected by the Events committee prior to the event
  • The Traditions Committee has the right to determine the number of performances that will perform at the Monday night event
  • The song may not go over a 3 minute time limit.  (depending on number of entries UPC reserves the right to shorten all acts).  The participants must select a song from the karaoke binder at the time the application is turned in.  This binder will be available in the Student Engagement and Leadership office (room 169 in the Student Union) for you to make your selection
  • Additional instruments, props, or costumes may be used for the performance as long as it receives approval from the Traditions Chairperson.  Please make all requests on the entry form.  Additional materials will be allowed with approval, but must be able to be assembled and dissembled within a 2 minute time frame
  • Participation in the actual talent competition is mandatory for organizations competing in the Spirit of Homecoming Sweepstakes
  • In addition, you must have 30% of your organization there in order to receive your participation points
  • The form for Ragin' Cajun Karaoke is available in the Student Engagement and Leadership office (room 169 in the Student Union) and is due no later than Friday, October 23, 2015 by 12:30 p.m.
