Engaging Self Awareness: Faculty/Staff and Student Programs on October 26th

Friday, October 26, 2018 - 9:00am to 3:00pm

UPC invites all students to join us for our Engaging Self-Awareness Program, with speaker Aneesah Smith, which is being held on Friday, October 26, beginning at 1:00 pm in the Bayou Bijou Theatre of the Student Union. This event is an interactive program highlighting culture differences and diversity within the student body and faculty at the University. Our event is intended to promote self-awareness and self-appreciation. We look forward to seeing you there!

UPC is also partnering with the Office of Campus Diversity for a Courageous Conversations  presentation for faculty and staff on Friday morning, October 26th, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the Helma B. Constantine Forum in the Student Union. This roundtable/workshop, Cultivating Campus Climate Considering Intersectionality, will introduce the concept of intersectionality,  the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender, and its impact on students' experiences.  Participants will reflect on the influence of intersectionality with students. Ms. Smith will also be the facilitator and speaker for this event. To register for this workshop, please click here.
